Each of the system certificate stores has the following types:
Local computer certificate store
(Video) How To Set up Windows 7/8/10 For CAC use on Government WebsitesThis type of certificate store is local to the computer and global to all users of the computer. This certificate store is located in the registry under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE root.
Current user's certificate store
This type of certificate store is local to a user account on the computer. This certificate store is located in the registry under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER root.

Note that all current user certificates are savedexcept current user/personal storageinherit the contents of the local computer's certificate stores. For example, when adding a certificate to the local computerTrusted root CA certificate store, all current users' trusted root CA certificate stores (with the above warning) also contain the certificate.
Use
Driver signature verification during Plug and Play (PnP) installation requires Root and Authenticode certificates, includingtest certificates, reside in a local computer certificate store.
